Seven pines Samantha
July 5, 1996-January 10, 2005

We started Sammie in NSTRA spring of 2001 and became 1st time champion on April 25, 2004 Sammie developed a bronchial disease in October 2004 her veterinary Dr. Dritley treated her until day of Death. Sammie was owned and handled by Leo & Linda Hergenroder also sometimes was handled by good friend Dellyn Feighner. Sammie was joy to have around. Loved to ride in front seat of truck, which was where she passed away on the way to Dr. Dritley's office with Linda. Sammie will be missed more than anyone knows.

Sundance Kate

Our Sundance Kate was not an official NSTRA dog, but was often in attendance at many a field trial; and often was in charge of cleaning fields after trials. She was born 7/10/92, pick of the litter female was our choice, from Sundance Kennels, Kenosha, WI. She was her daddy's personal hunter, as well as official spotter for waterskiiers in the boat, etc... Kate had a great life, hunted many fields in Wisconsin, and Iowa. Kate was also mother hen to many WI GSP Rescue dogs that came thru our home as foster kids over the years. Suddenly, shortly before her 13th birthday, she started breathing funny, stopped eating, started loosing weight....at first her vet, Dr. Jim Rieser, of Shooting Starr Kennels and Forest Home Animal Clinic, thought congestive heart failure; until the test from fluid drawn from her chest cavity came back terminal CANCER. Cluster tumors not to be seen, but we think gravitating towards her heart, giving it an enlarged look. From diagnosis to death, was only 3 days. She died in her daddy's arms early morning 7/4/05, just 6 days shy of her 13th birthday. Our hearts will forever be broken for our baby girl. But we know she's in safe hands, and probably directly shown to the big field full of birds, until we see each other again. Rest in peace Kate. Momma and daddy loved you well.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just the way we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing - they each miss someone special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent, his body begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted and when you and your special friend meet you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then together you and your special pet cross the Rainbow Bridge.
