The Quail Invitational is held in late February, with the site determined by invitations extended by NSTRA regions. Entry limit is 128 and qualification is based on points earned in recognized trials from November lst to October 31st of the previous year. The 2010 running was at Lake Wales, Florida the last week of February. This year’s repeat winner was Kickapoo Molly's Revenge, GSP/F, Owned by Roger Parient, Jr. of the Indiana region.

The Trial of Champions is held each year at Amo, Indiana. The trial shall begin as needed to be completed on the last Saturday of April. It is open to all dogs that have attained Championship status by February 1 of that year. If Championship status is earned after Feb. 1st but before April 1st those dogs may enter as paid standby dogs, eligible to win. The winner of the 2010 TOC was Crosswind Truckin Fritz, a German Shorthair male owned by Scott Townsend of the Michigan Region. The runner up was Tomoka’s Smokin J.R., an English Setter male owned by Wes Barr of the West Texas Region.

Early September is the date of the Endurance Classic, the second revolving trial, with the site determined by invitation. Entry limit is 128, based on points earned from June 1st to May 31st of the previous year. The 2009 Endurance Classic was held at the Green Gulch Ranch in Vinton, California. The winner was Elm Creek Redman, owned by Richard Williams of the Oklahoma Region.

The Dog of the Year Trial will begin the end of October with a 192 dog limit. Each region is represented with qualification based on a percentage basis. To participate in the dog of the Year Trial, your dog must first qualify at the Regional Championship trials held in each region. Some regions also elect to send their high point dog each year. This trial is also held at Amo, Indiana. The winner for 2009 was Classic Point Gretchen owned and handled by Mark Griffiths of the Michigan Region.

The Quail Forever Championship trial is held the 2nd week of January in Elberton, Georgia at the 4 Star Plantation. There were 128 dogs running in the 2009 trial, with the champion emerging as Boomer's X Rated owned and handled by Scott Boomershine of the Indiana Region.

This year saw the inaugural Owens Mid West Championship held in Waverly, Nebraska at the Rock Creek Field Trial Association.  With 128 entries and a format similar to the Grand National this trial was a huge success.  The winning dog was Turner’s Maggie Sue owned by Bob Turner of the Indiana Region and handled by Nick Miller.
