The Trial of Champions is held each year at Amo, Indiana. The trial shall begin as needed to be completed on the last Saturday of April. The Dog of the Year Trial begins the end of October with a 192 dog limit. Each region is represented with qualification based on a percentage basis. To participate in the dog of the Year Trial, your dog must first qualify at the Regional Championship trials held in each region. Some regions also elect to send their high point dog each year. This trial is also held at Amo, Indiana. The winner for 2011 was Clown’s Icing on the Cake owned and handled by Scotty Bruer of the Indiana Region.

The Performance Classic Championship trial was held this year in Waverly, Nebraska at the Rock Creek Field Trial Association.  With 128 entries and a format similar to the Grand National this trial was a huge success.  The winning dog was Quail Ridge Ranger owned by Rachel Crossland of the Dixie Region and handled by Jeff Gamble.

Historically, the Grand National Invitational Championship Trial has been promoted as the “best of the best”. Qualification for this trial is based on participation in one of the other championship trials, participation in a region elimination trial or Top Performance placement during the past year. This trial has been held all over the county with the 2010 trial held at Brownlow’s 4 Star Plantation in Georgia in January. The winner was Beeline Bullet’s Oxidation, owned and handled by Nolan Huffman of the South Carolina Region.
